Bump to say this thread is awesome and Mreed you are doing great work.

What part of Indiana are you in? I'm not far from Indy...I might be interested in dropping by your shop sometime for certain jobs that I don't have the tools/skill for (unless you only do custom builds and such...in which case I'd still love to eyeball your shop lol....).

Hi Sarah, that filter will work just fine and it shouldn't let any rain in, K&N will improve performance a bit but won't be affected by anything else!

I rode 300 miles through a driving rain and dense fog in 45F weather, at about 80-90mph with an open DK587 intake with no rain sock.

My bike never so much as hiccupped.
