My turnsignals won't self cancel. I would appreciate anyinfo on the most likely cause. Thanks.

 

I'm not intimately familiar with the '95's, so I have to ask:

Did1995'scome withthe self-cancelling turn signals from the factory, or is that function a newer addition?

 

Did they self cancel before?

 

13 model years back. I would guess they didn't have cancelling signals then. However, I don't know that.

 

According to http://www.sportster.org, self-cancelling signal lights were introduced on Sportsters in 1991.

 

My '95 doesn't either, but then it has a different tank (Fat Bob)and speedometer on it so I guess that would be why for mine... bought it that way.....previous owner had cut the wires and just taped them together under the dash...I soldered and shrink tubed them....Had to put better idiot lights on dash too.prev. owner had drilled out the holes and the plastic lights on it were broken and garbage.....got 'em from a truck stop...this on a 3 light dash(now a 4 lite dash)...look good and work great!! Anyways, was the speedo changed or modified in any way?

OOPS!! Can't count!!! Dash now 5 lite instead of 3....

same here redheadedharleylady mine is a 1997 with the same tank and dashwith the speedo and mine dont self cancel either

 

i have a 1991 sportster with self cancelling turn signals..they cancel fine..
