I appreciate all of the input. In all honesty it isn't a matter of buying a different bike, because the 2011 SuperLow is the bike I won in a Budweiser contest. I would definitely love to get ahold of a 48 to own a 1200, or a Superglide or the like to have more power and comfort available to me. I am limited to whatever I can trade the bike for at this point, which puts me into Metric territory because they can't sell those damn things. My wife swore up and down that the only way I would own a bike is if I won one. Well, I showed her!

I thought you could have been a tad more tactful, but that might just be me

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. If I wasn't looking for or expecting a variety or responses I wouldn't have bothered to ask. He is stating his opinion, and did so in the same way I probably would have. Blunt honesty is better than soft lies.

The closest I can get are the specs for a 2003 883Hugger.
I don't think there should be to big a difference.

OVERALL MOTORCYCLE WEIGHT
1994-2003 models 485 lb. (220 kg)

Gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR)*
1995-2003 models 948 lb. (430 kg)

If only more people were as honest with themselves as you are regarding this subject. Much respect, and good luck with the scooter.

Made up my mind last January to buy me a bike after 20 some years without one. picked me up a smokin' deal on a 2005 883XLC. I'm 5'10" 200 lbs. It ran fine, handled fine, just didn't blow my skirt up. I'd been stuck with it if my step son didn't twist my arm to sell it to him. Which I did. Got me a Dyna, and am 100% happier. I'm not putting down the Sportster, but for me.....I know I'd a been wanting a bigger bike as long as I owned mine.
