Default Cleaning Primary Cover

Hey everybody, I'm trying to figure out what would work best on my primary cover and sprocket covers. I'm guessing that the metal is some kind of cast iron? I've tried a few different products and tried to do some research on here but nothing has really jived thus far. Anybody know of any good products? Here is a pic of what is on the bike for referencing.

It's wrinkle grey powder coated aluminum.
I use Simple Green and a tooth brush.
