Default Tire Question

Just picked my 2006 1200L up from a 15k service and front and rear tire replacement. I didn't notice it til I got home, but they put a slightly narrower tire on the front than what the original was. The factory had a 100/90-19 on the front, but the dealer replaced it with a 90/90-19. Any thoughts as to the reason why, other than they may not have had the 100's in stock? Will I notice any difference in performance?

I would call and asked them, working fo a tire retailer I can honestly say I have seen the wrong tires installed more than once. Could have been a mistake.

They should have asked you before fitting a different tyre IMHO. The 90/90 is about 3/8" narrower than your 100/90.

Wider tires last longer and handle better...they may have made a mistake but don't let them slide on it.

Up to a point.

Turn in gets dramatically decreased once you start getting WAY wide.

I remember I went from a 180 rear on my Warrior to a 190 and the difference was actually quite easy to feel. There was a sensation of having to hold the bike down in corners as it wanted to stand up straighter with the 190 vs the 180.

Then I later went to a 170, and it improved turn in so much, I swore I'd never to back to a 180.
