Default 07 sportster custom battery removal...

Man this looks like a dang hassle .... am putting on some quick disconnects for battery tender in the morning....was looking at the battery placement....guess it comes out only one way, out the left side....sure not looking forward to it....anyone know any easy way to do this let me know....lol....

It can suck getting that thing out! I was having a hard time getting it out so just decided to take off the entire ground wire. Once I did that and rerouted the ground wire it made it super easy the next time. Have fun!

It is a lot more intimidating than it actually is.
Undo the nut holding the negative cable to the engine case. 12 or 13mm, I believe. Pull the battery cover downward from the top. Undo the screw/bolt that holds the strap on. Remove the strap. Disconnect the positive battery terminal (after you are sure that the negative is cleared and dies not touch anything grounded). Pull the battery out. Should take you about 5 minutes, not too hard at all.

man i was not near as hard as i thought....i just undid the strap and it slid right out, could get to both neg and pos to install quick disconnect....took about 20 minutes....just looks intimidating as hell....routing my charging quick disconnect and tyraped it......i always use the deltran float chargers on my bikes....batteries last forever with them.....and i don't ride that much....thanks for the info

I was the same way after reading some prior posts on changing the battery. I thought it was going to be a pain. It was exactly the opposite. I just used a mini black ziptie to secure the plug on the inside and it just looks like it belongs there. Really can't even tell.
