Hey guys!
Just picked up my first bike a few months ago and I’d really like to black it all out. Anyone know what years are compatible with my bike? I figure it’d be easier to find parts if it is compatible with models on the 00’s. Thanks!!!

I think its 86-90 on some engine parts and others like frame up to 86-03 as I think the frame was the same but the engine changes. I cant remember when it went from a case breather to a head breather with umbrella valves? The 4 speed is one issue of course.

I have a 1990 and its hard to swap some parts.

This probably did not help much. I use the Ronnies online part fiche to check parts.

Wow, that an '86. Looks great.
But, sorry no leads to answer your part compatibility question.
Congrats.

Remembering that '91 was a 5-speed...
so... about 1982 I believe till 1990 should all be the Same..Basically...certainly 1984 to 1990 BTDT...
and it is easier to put a 4-speed into a 5-speed frame than to put a 5-speed into a 4-speed frame... BTDT..

Not going to find a lot of custom parts with a 1990, especially blacked out. Start practicing with a spray can or find a local powder coating operation. Because I live on ocean, my 1991 has taken a beating. Believe me, your bike looks impeccable for it's age. On the ocean, rust never sleeps. Good luck making your new bike your own!

Hell yeah! With enough money and time, anything is possible.
