Default Installing 2-up seat

I've been thinking abut getting a 2-up seat, probably a Mustang, and was looking at how the seat attaches to the fender. My '96 1200c has a hole in the fender with a plastic plug in it, but there does not appear to be anything for a bolt to thread into.

Is there some aditional part I need in order to install a 2-up seat?

Remove the plug, and move the threaded part where you currently screw in the seat to the back hole. There is a plastic clip holding the threaded part on the fender. All you have to do is remove the plastic clip, the metal threaded part will drop. Pull a zip-tie through the metal threaded part and feed it under the fender into the back hole, and reattach the plastic clip.

Trust me, it is a lot easier than it sounds.

Thanks! That sounds easy enough.

I finally got around to checking this, and I don't see a plastic clip holding the threaded part on - in fact, it looks like the threads are part of the fender.

Is the plastic clip on the underside of the fender? Does this require lifting the bike?

maybe a 96 is different than my 06, here's a pic from Mustang's site that shows the piece and the clip, The nut goes under the fender, held in place by the clip on top

Thanks. The hole in my fender does not have a notch shown in that picture.

As you suggested, I called Mustang. They're sending me a nut kit.

Thanks.

My seat just arrived this morning - ebay purchase.

I believe it's a Wide Touring One-piece Vintage.
