Couple of issues after tank lift/wire tuck
howdy all! new to the forum (first post) and to bikes/modding in general. been riding an 09 nightster for about 2 months now and am absolutely addicted. mods so far include forward controls, biltwell keystone Z bars, 2" tank lift, coil/ignition relocate, and a wire tuck.
after completing the tank lift/wire tuck last week i'm having two seemingly random problems.
1. about 1/4 of the times when i'm downshifting into first gear as i come to a stop, the bike will simply die.
i thought this might somehow be related to a shortage of fuel delivery because of the tank lift, but it seems to do it intermittently even when i have a full tank of gas. thoughts?
2. my speedo/odometer intermittently do not work. half the time they're fine, the other half the time they register no increase in speed/mileage.
i assume this second issue is related to a wire that has pulled loose in its connector, or perhaps one of the connectors was not clipped back together all the way after i finished untangling the mess of "spaghetti" under the tank. at any rate, i don't really know what i'm looking at when i lift up the tank (which connection might be responsible) and i can't test if the speedometer/odometer begin reading again without actually riding the bike.
HELP!
