Default Batwing fairing on a Sportster?

So I have always liked the look of the bat wing fairings. They add a certain look to the bike and not to mention a little added protection from the wind and some bugs. However, I have rarely seen a bat wing fairing on a Sportster. Maybe it defeats the purpose of the Sportster or whatever.
What are your thoughts about a bat wing fairing going on a Sportster?

This is the only Sportster with a batwing fairing that I've actually liked. I actually ran across this bike while in Sturgis this year and it's cool as hell in person.

Pick up an issue of American Iron, there's a company or two that advertises them in there. I've had the thought of putting one on, but just don't want to do it, I'd ruin the ergonomics, and I like the wind in my face.

Yes, I quite enjoy the one on my bike, they're not for everyone though.

It is your bike, don't let nay say-ers dissuade you.

If you plan on doing any serious distance riding it can make it much less tiring.

He DID ask for our opinions, thus inviting the naysayers. And I'm another one. I am not a fan of fairings on any bike. Nor do I like windshields. I personally wouldn't want a batwing on mine. I was going to say that they would look silly on a Sportster until I saw the photos of the one Yourad posted from Sturgis and the one Blackcherry posted of his bike. They look just fine. Sportsters are very versatile bikes. You can really take them any direction you want, as those guys proved. I wouldn't do it to my bike but there seems to be no reason you can't do it to yours if that's what you like.

When you decide what you want to do, post a photo.

Yeah I saw that bike with it and it doesn't look too bad but I like more of a raw look for a sporty. The sportys have a narrow look and not so much a bagger look, but if thats the look you want maybe just get a bagger.
