Default Taking off 1 rearview mirror. Which side is more important?

Please help. Apologies for the noob question but I only want to use 1 rear view and I know on cars in the 80s that only had one mirror it was the drivers side but on bikes it seems people leave the right side(passenger) more often. Please help both sides are pretty hard to see from as it is

Going for some kind of look and don't really care what's behind you? Most of us use both mirrors, so I for one can't help you.

In my opinion, it's all preference. Some might argue one side is better but I use my single mirror to see behind me, not to change lanes, more like a rear view. So pick the side that feels right or that you can see best out of.

I can't see **** outta my left mirror, but I keep it there for symmetry.

Default Most Important?

The mirror you remove will be the most important one because it will be the one that kills you!

FYI, CA DMV m/c manual...page #9&10 states motorcycles must have horn & "two mirrors" to be street legal. Not saying you shouldn't remove one...just letting you know it could be a reason for LEO to pull you over...

I'd have to agree.

Looking up the equipment laws, I'm surprised Cali (think that's where your from) doesn't require both, but it only requires a "review mirror" as does all but 10 states. The other 10 are split with 5 requiring both both left and right sides and the other only require a left. To me a left side mirror would be the primary as is the case in a cage. Already being at a great disadvantage to those in a cage, I'm keeping both.

EDIT - Iceman found more accurate information (and posted while I was writing this I guess) than what I did when I checked the MSF listing of equipment requirements. A DMV manual will trump a MSF manual anyday.
