Exclamation Need help!!!

Have a 1991 Sportster Hugger, when i bought the bike everything ran fine until about a month or two in to it. Got up one morning and it was slow to crank then after work it wouldn't start. Bought a new battery and that seemed to be the ticket but after a few weeks it did the same thing. I bought a new stater and voltage regulator. Got the stater on after a 3 hour self taught lesson on how to do it with input from friends that ride on where it was located. When changing the voltage regulator i found a loose wire that looked as if it was broken. Found where it went and fixed it. Haven't got the voltage regulator completely on yet but will in the morning. If it still doesn't start what else could be the problem???? Please help it is killing me to see her sit on the garage when its such nice weather out...

see if that fixes the problem first then go into "what ifs" just make sure the battery is good and charged when you start out.

Okay changed the voltage regulator and battery is about half charged. It will start and run while battery charger is hooked up but as soon as I take the clamps off it dies.

Make sure the battery is holding a charge and CHARGE IT. get yourself a battery tender too to keep the battery maintained while it sits.

Yea battery charger on while the bike is running wont tell you much. A bike will stay running with a dead battery.

Charge the battery then see if it will start
