I ordered 10" mini apes from my local HD shop for my 2011 Nightster- the parts guys looked up what other parts would be needed so ...I ordered a wire harness kit and harness turn signal(?) that item is tad hard to read on the receipt. I brought my bike ,in this evening to be worked on tomorrow, drop it off at service ...I wonder around the store I go back to service and ask one of the mechanics will it be ready tomorrow he says it all depends if other parts are need...he sees what parts I have and says I could need others... blah blah .....MY QUESTION IS WHAT PARTS DO I REALLY NEED?? ANY INFO IS APPRECIATED!
I wish I could do it my self but not really mechanical & I am kinda not sure about having some guy friends work on it.
10" shouldn't require too many extras. They'll throw everything in to get your money, but as mentioned above the brake line is the only one that comes to mind, and I'm pretty sure you don't even need it.
*** he seemed to think he needed to check it out first...which I thought odd since he is a HD mechanic & I leads me to believe the might take advantage of me since I am a chick rider...
You are gonna need the front brake line unless they bend the hardline and relocate it (the dealer isnt going to try and save you money) Everything else should be fine and maybe re routed if there is a problem (clutch cable).
