Default securing helmets to a sportster

hey everyone,

i wear a full-face helmet, and one thing i notice about sport bikes is that there always seems to be a place to secure a helmet on those frame. do any of you have a good way to secure a full-face helmet to your sportster (i have a stock 2012 iron) when you go shopping or whatever? i hate carrying it around. and no, not wearing a helmet isn't a option with my wife (who bought me the bike)

thanks!

Wear it while shopping, this way if somebody throws things at you, you're protected. Plus, you'd look more manly.
Seriously, I've occasionally slid mine down over the sissy bar, letting it rest on the back of my 2 up seat, and nobody's bothered it.

I always just hang mine off my turn signal stem or right foot peg. Never had an issue.

hang it off a turn signal or license plate or sissy bar. sometimes i just place it on the ground next to the kickstand. I used to lock mine up but now I don't. you can always snake a thin chained lock through your frame and helmet but a thin chain can get clipped.

If you got some extra cash lying around, go this route. I have it and love this helmet lock. Attaches to any 7/8", 1", or 1.25" bar. It keeps it away from the hot pipes and off of the ground.

I've got pics of it on my bike if you're interested. PM me if you want.

I never leave a helmet out, locked or otherwise; used to be too many aholes that liked to drop their cigarette butts in open car windows, or anything else that would annoy people. Haven't seen anything like that for several years, but it's still in my mind. I never take the sporty shopping, but on errands or food stops, I always carry the helmet with me.

mine has a hole on it for a fork lock, not sure about newer bikes, but if I didn't run a cheap helmet, I'd probably pad lock the helmet on the fork lock

I just hook it over my left peg/shifter. I used the right one before, but melted part of my helmet on my exhaust.
