Default 2016 XL1200C. Mini bagger

Here is my 2016 1200C that I have made into a mini bagger. I love it. Traded down from touring bikes that I have ridden for years. Love the sporty

I love the way you have yours set-up. I just put a down payment on a 2012 that looks to be the same color blue as yours. I can't wait to get on it and ride it home. I have been looking on the forum for someone who has set up his as you have and I really like how you have done it.
What kind of hard bags are those you have mounted and if not HD, where did you get them? The floor boards are a direct replacement for the footpegs?
Thanks and looking forward to the 1200 as an alternative to my 2000 Electra Glide for solo rides.

the saddlebags are Harley touring hard bags. I got the mounts for them at cycle vision (bagster mounts),
the floorboards are From DK Custom. Mustang seat,
and custom windshield using Harley attachment hardware. Harley tall boy handlebars, and a Harley road tech gps. Love the bike. Runs and handles great

Thank you for the information. It surely looks good.
When you say Harley touring hard bags, do you mean OEM or aftermarket? Do they mount the same manner as the stock Harley side cases? If so I could take them off of my Electra Glide which is about the same color blue and depending which bike I'm riding just swap them out. Do the bags protrude past the rear fender very much? Is the back rest from Mustang also or is it the Harley OEM accessory?
Again thank you for your reply.

Bags are Harley OEM. Your bags off your flht will work just fine. Yes they attach the same way. They are Harley saddlebags. You will need the cycle vision bagster mount to attach them. It is a mustang back rest.

This should give you idea of protrusion from fender

The gloss black looks good. Did you also have to relocate your turn signal light bar?
I am not sure how I will "fit" with the forward controls. All bikes I have owned have had mid controls and the baggers have the floorboards. How do you like the forward controls compared to the riding position on the touring bikes?

i am 6’2”. The fwd controls are actually in the same ergonomic position as they were on my road glide
and all other baggers I have owned. I had to take vivid black as the saddlebags I ordered new were 2013 and below models. The MOCO would not let me order superior blue (it was a 2016 color). So I may keep them vivid black or paint them in the future. The vivid black is growing on me

I am looking into finding a new number plate holder which is not straight.

Something like this which fits the three bolts of the Sportster casing which is part of rear - break light. I saw a nice one on a silver colored 2011 Custom last week.

Are the new bags ABS plastic or are they still made of fiberglass?

Default 1200C here

I got the 2013 1200C mainly for the 4.5g tank but I like the look too. I would make the same decision today if I had to.
