You have it jetted quite lean you should have a 170 main and a 45 slow jet. That will help. The cough out the intake is a good indicator of a lean mixture.
A 160 main is fine for an 883 Stage 1, no more than a 165 is really necessary as they weren't tuned that lean in the WOT range from the factory because of the way the EPA tests are done. Even the new EFI bikes tend to run ok or rich at WOT.
Dying when giving it throttle is stereotypical of a rich fuel issue, not a lean one. Also the black puff of smoke is a pretty good giveaway.
I'm with everyone else when they say float issue is the first to check. Second, you could be jetted rich already so that when you give it throttle the accelerator pump makes it so rich it stalls.
