2007 1200 sportster won't start
So guys I turn the key all lights go on except the odometer click the run switch I hear the fuel pump and then I click start and nothing no sound at all. I changed the battery and the battery in my key fob still the same thing! Please if anyone can help I would be very thankful!
Thanks to all in advance!! |
07's are notorious for getting water & corrosion in the fuse block area.
Remove all fuses and the 2 relays, test the fuses for continuity with a meter, clean their contacts, coat the contacts with dielectric grease and reinstall. |
Thank you it was a fuse

Same problem just bought the bike.

Thanks to all in advance!! Took all fuses and relays out. Brand new battery even tried jumping with a starter box incase battery wasn't enough new. Still everything turns on pumps lights and relay just clicks everything is ohming out 12.4 volts on the battery. What should I use on fuse and relay sockets? |
12.4 is actually low for a 12v battery. That puts the battery at about 50% state of charge. Throw a charger on the battery. Did you check the battery ground connection on the frame? Folks here say they are prone to corrosion.
Dielectric grease is what you use on elec terminal connections. Keeps moisture off the connectors. |
Hello and Thank you..
It was the starter relay. I swapped the system relay with the starter and it cranked but wouldn't start. So I bought a relay and boom she fired right up
