I have the vh short shots with the quiet baffles on my 48. Does anyone know when it's time to repack the baffles? Just play it by ear based on sound or is there a milage guideline?

i suspect it would depend on how the person rides and their setup n fuel mixture.

Well the fiberglass wrap doesn't burn. It actually gets blown out after awhile. The exhaust acts like a vacuum on the baffle louvers and pulls the fibers out of the pipe . Just look down the exhaust and see if there is any glass left around the baffle, you'll probably need a flashlight.

 

you have to decide, just take a look and listen...but when you do repalce it use fiberglass cloth instead of batting, it lasts alot longer....you can buy the stuff for auto body repair....
