Default PcV vs XiED

Looking for the most efficient way to improve my overall riding experience on my iron 883.. Already have v&h pipes and have held back upgrading my breather because I know I'll need some sort of fuel manager (and possibly dyno tune). .

I'm considering cost, performance and overall riding experience.

What do you guys think from your own experiences ?

Thanks in advance!

I put on a 2-1 v&h exhaust. Then I put on a SE intake and x14ied. The bike runs and sounds better. The low end stumble is gone. MPG around 50 and better on the highway. No complaints at all.

I added a high flow air cleaner and noticed a little hesitation sometimes but still ran well. I recently knocked out the baffles in my stock pipes and it runs better now. Sounds great also. I just ordered a set of x14ieds from DK this morning. I'll post after I try them out but I have no complaints the way it runs now. I do get a little decel popping when I let off the throttle without the baffles that I didn't get before, but I think it sounds good.

I have the X14ied's on my bike and I am really happy with them and the extra $200 in my pocket. BUT if I wanted to be able to make more adjustments, I'm sure I'd be happier with the Power Commander V. At three times the cost, anybody would expect more out of the PC-V.

Really, it's a matter of personal preference, budget, and what your objectives are when deciding which way to go. Only you can answer that.

We have installed X14iED's, XiED's & ViED's on sportys, as well as SERT's, PCIII's and PCV's.

For 1/4-1/2 the cost you will get 90% of the benefit out of the XiED's.

Most riders cannot tell (even though a Dyno can) any difference on a Stage 1 between a bike with the XiED's and a flow blown tuner.

Perhaps so and you might be in a better position to answer this. How many customers do you have that start out with just pipes and plan to stop there only, by the time they are done, the bike is now a 1250 with heads, cams and a turbo sitting on the work bench?

I can't help that you are not as smart as our leaders, can I? They can run a negative on the checkbook all day long over decades and get away with it by printing more money. Hell, I wish I was that smart.
