adjusting carburetor at higher altitudes
'06 883c
what should i do with the carb settings to allow the bike to perform better at higher altitudes
and at what altitude should i do this
doing the smokey mountains and the blue ridge and in some areas the altitude will be like 6,000 ft
i believe that is enough to have a big impact on the performace
is resetting it easy or difficult

I'm a frequent rider in the Smoky Mtns. You will notice a slight difference above 4,000 feet, but those elevations are rare.
The easiest way to quickly adjust is to get a speed screw for the air fuel mixture. Then, it's just a simple small turn with your finger and thumb. I really don't think you will notice much difference. There are very few places in that area that are over 3,000 ft.

low speed mixture will not help, its out of the picture at 1/8 throttle.
you will be rich at altitude.
it can be adjusted with different main , and needle.
however when you get back down to a lower altitude , it will be way lean..
Now rich at altitude wont hurt anything except power/fuel milage .
lean at lower altitude can destroy your motor.
For one trip , I would just put up with the lack of power
