Seafoam will take care of that if you can get the mower started. A couple of years ago, my John Deere would bearly run the first time out of the barn. I put some Seafoam in the tank, and let it running. Wife was out cleaning around the pool, and asked what I was doing. I told her to just let me know when the mower engine smoothed out. About 15 minutes later, it was running perfectly and I was mowing.

I just bought a can of Seafoam this morning, filled up the tank and just got back from a 25 mile ride.

The verdict: It seems to make my bike run smoother and idle better. Plus, it seems like I have a bit more get up and go.

Beautiful day here in SoCal, blustery weather but the ocean is gorgeous, rode the coast the whole way.

For anyone that has followed my posts. I got the ride on mower running. I had to remove the carb completely, pull it apart. What a mess! The bowl was filled with mud and sand. Cleaned it up, put it back together. Started right up. I added the sea foam and it Smoked for about 2-3 minutes. Smoothed the idle a lot. Clean fresh gas, new oil, filter, plugs. She's happy. Wife will be happy too. She mowes the lawn, not me. What a sweet deal. Hahaha Of course I had to run it over the front lawn. Yeah!!!!!!!

Now going to pour an ounce or two in the Harley gas tank. Will let ya'll know how that goes. Getting all cleaned up for dinner, so will have to ride tomorrow.

Thanks brother(s)!!!!

Yea, Seafoam is good, but not worth much for mud and sand.

Ha, now that is funny! Mower is 2001 Troy Built. This is probably the first time the carb's been pulled apart. I got it used a few years back for $500. Mud was dust, rust & water, I live on the coast of eastern NC, so soil is sandy. Yup, I replaced the air filter last week when I started working on the mower to get it fixed. While I was at it, I poured some sea foam in the push mower, no longer surges like it want's to stop running.

Bottom line: sea foam DOES work.

When my Sporty tank runs dry, I'm going to try the MMO as preventive maint. Book marking this thread so I can update it at the end of summer with results of using the MMO. For now... Ride hard but ride safe.

It would explain the mud and sand!

Glad you got it going again.
