The New LeatherPros

For anyone who was thinking about buying a set of the new LeatherPros bags here are the pics of the ones I bought. They are really well made and I'm sure someone with a lot more experience then me could have them mounted up in about an hour. It took me three. But the mounts are tight and I didn't have to relocate my signals.

Sweet! I've been waiting for someone to post some pics.
Thanks.
Did you happen to get a shot of the backs? Are the mounting holes in the backs pre-drilled, or do you determine the mounting location and drill them? I want to make sure the bags stay off the turn signal housings so the housings don't get scratched up.
They look good on your bike.

I just got home and saw your post Scuba, I went out and took two pics that might answer your questions. The back of the bags has two slots that align with two post on your bike and then kind of vise grip down. If you have put on post for removable sissy bars it's something like that. Sorry for the lame explanation but I ain't a mechanic or a technical writer lol..http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l1...o/IMG_3196.jpg

Nice Rotho those turned out really nice. Glad to hear they worked out for you.

HarleyScuba 06-23-2012 04:51 PM

It looks like one of the mounts attaches to the turn signal stalk.
Is that correct?

baka1969 06-23-2012 05:13 PM

I have LeatherPro's literal sibling, the Boss Bags and have been happy with them. Very good quality.

Kinda, You loosen up the stalk and replace it's mounting screw with theirs and the mount attaches between the stalk and the strut. It's a L shaped mount and has two holes. One for the mounting bolt and the other for the turn signal wires and you can see the mounting stud hanging below. Getting that all tidy and tightned up was the only pain in the arse I had.

Thanks Smoker, the bad news is we are a little poorer for all this. The good new is that the beer can now be carried home safely.:icon_beerchug:

I've been looking at these. Thanks for the pics. How about the fitment with the passenger pegs? Do they have full up and down motion and room on the pegs for a normal size foot?

The bags are not in the way, I ride solo for the most part but it looks like the passenger will have a good ride.

Rotho,
Thanks for the pics. Mine should arrive in the next week or so. The installation looks nice.

Nice bags, they look nice on your bike.

steveb625 07-03-2012 07:54 PM

Hey Rotho,
My bags came in today. I got the CB2600 (the ones with the square cover). They look great but I have a slight issue with the mount that goes under the turn signal. How did yours fit? Looks like you have the same bike. I found that the holes in the bracket don't match up with the holes in the bike. I sent off an email with photos to LP. Too bad because they look great and will fit perfectly once the bracket situation is ironed out.

Mine went in without a hitch. Aside from the usual problems you run into they mounted easy enough. Garry from LeatherPros will help you out. Let us know what the problem was.

steveb625 07-04-2012 07:43 PM

I am all set now. Garry called and let me know what to do. Got them on in 45 minutes but I already knew exactly what to do because I had this stuff apart a couple of times already. The hardest part was tucking the turn signal wires back into the plastic holders under the fender.

So, here are 2 pics.

No pics of mine, but I'm very happy with them. Easy on and off, very solid.

Steve, Your bike looks great. LeatherPros has decent customer service. And Yes, the turn signal wire under the plastic thing in the fender was a biach, I forgot about that lol..

Just pulled the trigger on a set of the LeatherPros. I hold you guys personally accountable. :) Since I have a vivid black 2011 - XL1200C I know exactly how good they'll look and that I do not need to move the rear signals. Thanks!

What style did you order?

JAT 07-07-2012 01:19 PM

These

Went around and around, but ended up here.

Actually updated this thread because I ordered the wrong bag and would have had to relocate the signals. Gary caught it and let me know so I could decide what to do. I switched to these.

Another happy LeatherPros customer!
