i have 07 1200C. Only had it about 6 weeks. It has power commander, vance & hines pipes, screaming eagle air cleaner. At times the bike pops and backfires when letting off accelarator. Does this sound like the tuning is off on the power commander or is this normal? In my mind, it should not do this. If tuning is off, what can i do? I know nothing about a power commander or any other tuner. Thanks for the help.

 

A lot depends on the pipes you have, some pop more than others.
Mine does what I would describe as a "crackle" on decel which I kind of like, loud pops or backfires would make me think about a dyno tune.
You could try loading a different map, did you get the software for the PC when you bought the bike?

 

no, i did not get any software. It runs good. Since the bike is new to me, i just want to make sure the motor is running the way it should, so there are no issues in the future.

 

Go to the Power Commander's web site. It has the manuals you need and the software too.
