Exactly what I was looking for, thanks

Cool. Believe I used just a 2 pole swich. Power goes to one side and the accessory & ignition get wired together on the other terminal.

Just a thought, have you checked with ant boat mechs?

They use toggle switches with everything and by their nature need to be waterproof.

Any electronics store will have all the parts you need , Radio shack type places . You could even buy a tiny project or a rocker switch with rubber covering . As long as the + and - never meet your not gonna blow the fuse which is 15 amp. 12V switches are very common and different varieties . If you really want a indestructible switch check ebay for industrial switches , find a NEMA 4 or higher and its good for anything you throw at it . I have a basic rocker switch from one of the Big box stores for under $10 that I use for a USB charger and Iphone charger that I just electrical taped up after soldering the connections that is exposed and haven't had an issue with it in the rain for 3 months now . You could get a tiny switch and wire it through the frame wherever and drill a tiny hole for it , a little contact cement will seal it no problem .

So I just did this mod myself and with the toggle in the OFF position my light on the speedo stays on...did I do something wrong.

I have the 2 solid red wires connected to one post and the red/black connected to the second post.

I am wondering if I should have connected 1 of the solid red and the red/black wires to one post and the the other solid red to the other post.

Well hopefully that made some sense... Let me know your thoughts.

Yes, if you have any lights on with the switch in the off position, you've got something wrong. If noone else knows the answer I'll look at my wires tomorrow.

I see from your other thread that your bike's a 95, I'm not going to bother pulling my cover to look at my wire colors because they're likely not the same being 14 years different. There are 3 wires there.. decide which one is power, and put the other 2 on the other side of the switch. Based on the description of your problem, you've got the accessory and hot wire on the same pole of the switch.. just move the accessory wire to the other pole and you'll be good.
