Default 2012 Iron Battery Removal Tips?

Hey,

I am trying to remove my battery from my Iron and i'm finding it a real pain in the ***. The manual says to remove the -ve jumper from the chassis so i can slide the battery out. Where that nut is located I'm having issues accessing it with a "cheap" swivel socket.

Any tips or tools used? washer size; 7/16? Easier way to access?

Do you know what wire size is used so I can make a longer jumper and replace this short one?

All I did on mine was to take the bolt out at the bottom of the battery strap and move it aside, then undo the positive post (10mm) to remove +cable then pull out on the battery and remove negative cable ( 10mm)

Did you have enough slack on the negative cable to slide out?

Disconnected positive, then negative, and out it goes. Putting it back in is the hard part.

First thing I did was pull the main fuse. I then took my time and, as per the manual, removed the negative side first. I removed it from the battery terminal. It was a slow process because there was very little slack, but I did it. I then removed the positive. To put it back I just reversed the procedure. There's not much room to work but I just took it slow.
