Howdy to all!
I decided to do my first post here as I am going to Billings this afternoon to pick up a '07 XL883. I am a 56 year old guy, RVN vet and I live in Central Montana. Small town, and fifty miles to the next bar(except for Two Dot!). I have been watching this forum for months and the information and opinions here were part of the reason for my choice. We have thousands of miles of unpaved road leading everywere here, and I have a '08 KLR on order to do those, but I just had to get a Harley. I like them all, but I have admired the Sportster since forever! To my mind it is one of the best looking motorcycles ever made. I decided to start simple and play with it as far as accessories go. It is 19 degrees out know, so the first place it is going is in the garage! I will go out and fondle and stare until nicer weather alows me to ride when I can. I might ask a question or two, but for the most part I will be on the outside looking in. Thanks to all for your information that helped in my choice of ride. Meathead!
Welcome, meathead.
You wouldbe surprised of the wide age range of Sporty owners and riders. I'm not too far from your age myself.
I can't wait till the weather warms up around here. We'll be struggling to get up to 10 degrees out here for the next 4 days or so, warming up to a balmy 26 after that.
On a good note, I just heard that ther's only 50 more days till Spring!
Montana is a great looking state. Wish I had some of that open space myself. Good Luck. You won't be sorry on the purchase of the new bike. From Michigan, I am bigtop1. Formerly bigtop, who also is an 883 rider and, I may add, a little older than even you.
you lucky dog all that big sky country and two scooters to ride. I have been to montana on many occasions and brought some nice rainbows and brown trout home fishing in the yellowstone and boulder rivers . welcome from illinois.
