Default 1980 sportster carb float bowl help?

There is a little jet thing mounted on float bowl. Took it off to clean and a needle fell out. I have no idea which way it goes back in. I would guess point first but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is this a stock cv carb. you can google this and see pics of how that needle goes, is this the one that rides on the spring?

I tried a pic i cant get it to work right on my phone. It is the stock carb. Its not the float needle and there is no spring. I tried Google and i have clymer manual. The book does not have any information on this part. It is attached to the float bowl. When you put the bowl back on it sticks into the throat by the choke flap.

My pic keeps coming up as a question mark. I got one to upload in the photo section though. I click photos at the top of the screen and its the first one right now.

Do you mean the needle that attaches to the float itself?
