Discontinuing the Road Glide? I sure hope not. That rumor has been around for years.

Much like the Night train was replaced with the Blackline, I think a new version of the Nightster will be on the horizon for a 2013.5 model

I think the Sporty line had become a bit stale frankly and needed a shot in the arm. Perhaps Nightster sales had dropped recently, relative to the rest of the range. I'm sure every brand goes through the same cycles, with discontinued models mourned by some, while new models are hailed by others!

Economics is the reason the Nightster was discontinued. Folks stopped buying them. Perhaps demand for the blacked out look has peaked.

It is not always a bad thing when they discontinue a modal especially when it was a good seller, people that have them have a modal that is no longer being manufactured therefore down the road it could increase the resale value of the bikes, as well Harley might bring them back at a later point depending on the sales of the bike or bikes that took the place of the Nightster?

first they quit with the night train, now the soft tail standard and the soft tail custom are gone. the nightster is a cool looking bike to me but i'm not a marketing person. i personaly don't care for the blackline or the soft tail slim but alot of people like them. i think the trend with Harley is going more to making "old school" looking sportsters and touring bikes.

Blacked out, like chrome, CAN be overkill....I like a bit of both.

Again, tht fat tire on the front of hte sporties is jsut wrong, IMHO.

A 1200 Custom should have a 21 pizza cutter, not a bus tire.

But, I like my 19 up front.

Didn't meet sales goals.
