27 or 29 tooth

My '06 had a 28, yours is prob the same. I think at some point they changed to 29, but I'm not sure when.
I changed to a 30, but it has a 1200 kit on it.
edit:
according to a spec I found at totalmotorcycle.com, it does appear to be a 28
"Final Drive Belt, 68/28 ratio"

I only ask cause if it has a 27 I would probably put on a 29 ... a couple years ago I had a '99 883 and changed the 27 to a 29 and liked it a lot better ... the engine didn't run as hard ...
I'm 61 and not really into getting anywhere fast ... just like putting less stress on my bikes and me ...

If you don't have a copy of the Owners Handbook, which was supplied with the bike when it was new, you can go to the 'Owners' tab on Harley's website and download a copy. That will confirm the spec.
Be aware that recent bikes have higher gearing than older models like your previous one, to help them meet EPA noise regulations, so it is likely your current bike has higher gearing anyway.

There is a company who services 883 sportsters.. They make a 32t (same overall gearing as a 1200) it is a slick setup!
