Default P0562 error code! Newbie in Need of Help!

I have a 2011 iron 883 and about 2k miles on it. Yesterday, while i was riding the check engine and the battery light came up. It came off as soon as i switch off the engine and on again. Now the check engine light will comes up after 15 sec i started my engine and comes off after 5sec every time. Tried calling the HD dealer, and they told me it might be because the battery was dead once and the check engine lights was just telling me that. the PCM code was telling me P0562 which is low batery voltage. Please help me guys, i just owned this bike for about a month. Im a total newbie.
Thanks

I'm not sure if the ECM can clear itself, but if the code is for the battery I would have the battery checked - it maybe on its way out.

Some computers need to be manually cleared of old codes as they do not have the ability to clear themselves, I'm not sure if the HD ones can do it alone?

you need to clear the code if you're not having any problems with it. does it ride fine? you clear the code by going back through the diagnostic and when it shows the code hold the reset button for 5 secs. it will show none after that.

Clear the code, if it's a real (continuing) problem, the code will get set again and then you need to find out what's causing it.

FYI - there's a "Sticky" thread at the top of this section on using the diagnostic trouble codes (DTC's).

done! it was cleared and now the dtc is showing none. hope it is really a historic problem because its out of warranty and who knows how much the dealer will charge you to fix this.

The light coming on after 15 seconds means that a code was stored. I had the same code come up early last Spring, the battery list came off and on too... turned out to be a bad ground connection. Lock washers on the battery terminals fixed it for good... so far.
