Default 1999 Sportster 883C Rims?

Hey guys, new to this forum and have a few questions, first off i have searched this throughout the forum before joining and never an answer so here i am to cover it myself. I have a 99 sportster 883C with the 40 spoke wheels, this past summer the rear hub wallored out and is now in no riding condition. I am looking into getting new/used rims for the time being, i found a set of mag rims in my area for $250 but they are off of a 86, To my knowledge 87-99 will fit my bike. But am i wrong, just thought i would check before throwing down the cash just to be wrong.

I have a set of mags from my 2000 sporty that i just replaced this summer. You can see in my profile i went with a Fat Boy solid rear and a 21" spoke front. Dont need them anymore would sell them to you for 2 bills with the tires if your interested. Shoot me a text at 231-five five 7- zero 7 zero 7 and we could work something out.

I don't think there are any dimensional differences between 86 wheels and wheels up through 1999. However, at one point (I think it might have been 2000) Harley increased the diameter of the center hub opening for brakes and pulleys ... axle diameters too at some point. To be sure, look at brake rotors on ebay ... ads should say "will fit models from 19xx - 19-xx, or something similar."

That change was made when they went from tapered roller wheel bearings to ball-races, which have a slightly larger OD. So that is an additional check.
