I installed the wiring for heated gear. I do not like the HD heated gloves. I would not recommend the gloves, but the jacket is nice.

had to bump this. considering heated grips for my sportster. Looking for more opinons on the grips.. as well as looking for reccomendations on brands. I see the HD brand is $199.. i'll pay that if they are worth it, but i want to shop around of course. Also, cant find anything online about the installation, how hard it is, etc..

Wink

You can read the instructions on the H-D website, just go to the Shop tab, so you can see what is involved.

7 or 8 years ago I installed Heat Demons on my 2003 Ultra. They work great with no issues and I definitley recommend them. I have heated Gerbing gear also, including gloves, but prefer the heated grips

yea considering it since im in new england and unless its july or august, it will be chilly in the early morning/night.

My new bike is at the dealer currently, and i was going to have them change out the grips for me.. but im afraid i'll get sticker shock for what they'd charge to do it for me.

I went to my local H-D dealer, intending to purchase the heated grips. They pretty much refused to sell them to me, as they stated there were far too many dissatisfied customers getting mad concerning a lack of product durability.
The dealer further stated that some of the units seemed to have no problems but far too many of them did, for it to be a comfortable transaction.

The plug-in gloves are great!

The HD grips are known to fail. That's why I installed Heat Demons. Heated gloves work fine too ... personal preference, but I find plugging it all in to be a PITA.

I have heated grips on my BMW and use them all winter down to around 20 degrees F (about as cold as it gets in Savannah.) I'll add them to my Sportster before the next winter.

Add a pair of Gauntlets from PowerMadd and your hands will actually be warm when you get to your destination.

I've been reading that the heated grip problems dont exist like they used to anymore. I guess the built quality has gotten way better. Did your dealer tell you this recently?
