Default Rear Axel tourqe

Guys,

My buddy is bringing his 05 883 to remove the rear wheel for painting. I can not find the specs for the rear axel nut any ideas?

My Roadking says 15-20 ft pounds but Thats a touring bike

Rear axle nut torque according to my '08 service manual is 95-105 ft-lbs. Where did you get 15-20 ft-lbs?!? That couldn't be for an axle nut. BTW, front axle nut is to be torqued to 60-65 ft-lbs.

CP, there is a difference between the solid axle like on my 2007 1200c and the hollow axle of 2008. The solid one torques to about 75 ft lbs not to exceed 78. If you exceed 78 it will crush the bearings and the wheel will not turn. The hollow axle will accept the 95 to 105 ft lbs. cHarley know which is which.
