Default Port and Polished Heads

Iv been doing research and thinking about doing a port and polish on my 1200N heads. Has anyone done this already? What kind of gains did you see?

Are you personally going to do it? Or have it done. With great head work, great power can be made

Definitely going to get it done. I have a friend with a flow bench but I'm not going to take that chance. My bike comes stock with performance buell heads, I figured working those would be much better than the screaming eagle replacements. What performance gains will I notice? HP, Acceleration, Top end. How noticeable?

Good headwork needs to be complimented with other parts to take full advantage. Like cams, pistons, valve springs , fuel delivery, exhaust , air cleaner. Ignition

Check out hammer performance.....hands down, they are mild to wild. With all matched components and about 2500 bucks, hammer can make your bike fly. 100 hp, role on first gear wheelie, mid 11 second 1/4 miles

What year is your bike?

It will have crazy acceleration, extremely noticeable, top will be 130 and up

Spend an evening reading on hammers website. I've had two engines from them. Price and service is good and power is unreal.

Looking at the Hammer Performance Site, Should I do the Smash or Impact Level? Also do I want XB Heads, Thunderstorm Heads, or Stock 1200N Heads? I could send my heads in for a cheaper price but right now Dan has at least 30 day wait, which means no riding. The Smash asks for my Cams lift, and pistons im using? put URL below:

Gee, all the talk about hammers you would think this is a carpentry forum!

Port and polish is the easiest way to gain anywhere from 15 - 25% power increase, you don't need cams, domed pistons, Holly carbs, you got good all that already, what you need is to make it all sing in harmony, not fight each-other, kind of like people.

Porting is simple but must be done properly.
Polishing smooths the innerds of each part in both the intake and exhaust chain, easy in and easy out is the motto, make what you want of that.

Good luck and post those pictures for all the nubie'z,

.
