Default HELP with progressive shock install

just installed some progressive 412's. If anyone is running these and remembers the order of spacers/washers they used on a nightster please share. I went with what was stock had to adjust to get the shocks as straight up and down as possible.

I did the same on mine. I just made the shocks straight up and down. Been riding it that way and its totally fine. They really improve the ride. It makes you see how bad the front suspension is as soon as you go 100 feet. That's next on my list.

There is no single "proper" order for the spacers.
The idea is to make sure the shocks are straight (up an down), and spaced far enough out (especially on the right side), so that they aren't hitting or rubbing on any other parts, like the belt guard.

ok, and did you just eyeball it to see if they were straight or did you use a level or something?

Unless you're cross-eyed, just eyeball it.

I just went through the same thing today doing my 412's. I think I bolted and unbolted all 4 bolts 5-6 times each because it just never looked 'right' to me. I did the way you did, because that's how the poor directions say to do it, but still doesn't look right.
