Would it be possible for me to stop the decel popping by leaning out the 0 throttle position position column? All the popping I get is at 0 throttle when I'm coming to a stop or gearing down.
I was having a real hard time with mine, i have a PV and used the "quick tune" option to ad fuel in the "decel" box, it seem to do the trick!
Still most likey going to pull them and sell them for some sweepers or big radius pipes.
I increased the zero throttle position column to 5 in the first three or four rpm ranges and the rest up to 10 from 1750 rpm to 5000rpm. It decreased the decel popping considerably. I am gonna check the plugs today and as long as they look good I will keep this map. If the plugs looks good then everything should be good to go right? What I want to know is can the plugs look good and the bike still be too rich? Thanks for all the info so far fellas.
I went from a vn900 to an xl1200l so I can't feel the torque loss that everyone says comes with the short shots. It feels like a beast compared to the 900. I would like to get a patriot 2-1 just to feel the full performance of the 1200.
Title says it all, I think I'd rather just have some screaming eagle pipes or something more subdued. Maybe something that doesn't pop all the damn time. Maybe something I can actually find a map for.
Way too many ppl have the Short Shots, too common if you ask me.. So many exhaust options out there why be like the rest when you can be "different?"
Way too many people want to be different...why be different just for the sake of it? For those with the ShortShots, if you enjoy them then run them...no discussion needed.

+1
I had Short Shots on my Sporty together with a stage 1 AC and a Zippers ThunderMax with auto-tune and never had any problems with decel popping.
I did have the optional quiet baffles installed and loved both the look and the sound of the pipes.
I rode it about 40 or 45 miles today, then checked the plugs and they are both brownish tan colored so I guess I haven't over increased it yet. She seems to pull a bit harder and the throttle is extremely sensitive now. Also picked up a little bit of vibrational well.
