Thinking about getting vance and hines short shots.

Currently have cycle shacks slip ons.

Will the short shots be louder?

I'm also thinking about getting cycle shack full exhaust phd 130
and rush shorty.

Will I lose performance with the short shots?

Can I use xieds, short shots with my big sucker 2 air cleaner?

 

Shorts Shots are loud. I added the Quite Baffles, reduce the sound like 2 to 3 decibels (still loud) but give you more back pressure to the engine. Better performance and gas per millage. You maybe will need to tune your bike. I use Dynojet Power Vision.

 

Short Shots will be louder. You will lose performance. But you can add some Thunder Torque Inserts (W118's) and it will be a bit deeper sound, and you will have more power/better performance than with the CS Slip-ons you have now.

Yes, you can use the XiED's with the SS and BS combo.

 

I have the CycleShack PHD-230 full exhaust, not sure how different it is to the one you posted, but I have been in traffic next to someone with short shots, and the short shots were noticeably louder. I did go from slip ones to the full exhaust, and feel I did gain a little performance, mostly throttle response, but not a huge gain. If you search YouTube for "phd-230", I posted a decent quality sound clip.

 

The short shots were my first choice but I read too much about power loss and how much louder they were, so I went with another pipe.

 

I would say leave the pipes that are on your bike now alone. Then go buy another bike to put the V&H's on so you have a better caparison.

 

I got shortshots on my Iron IMO I thought they were way to load,but everyone tells me it sounds great and not obnoxishly loud,when I take longer rides I wear earplugs though
