Default 09 Nightster Voltage Regulator replacement

Hey guys,

I've been having some problems with the bike lately and I'm pretty sure it's the voltage regulator. I'm wanting to replace it but I'm having lots of trouble finding one online that I know will fit. I've done some reading and the recommendation is NOT to get the HD regulator. Some people have said that Drag Specialties makes a good one but I can't find the exact part number for it.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

I own a 2012 Nightster, when I brought it to the dealer for the 1,000 mile service they replaced the voltage regulator under warranty because it had been recalled. This might be the case with you as well.

Ya I heard about that too. I already called my local HD dealership and they told me that the recall started with the 2012's unfortunately. He was actually hoping that it extended to some of the older models too. Too bad for me...

Thanks for the help guys. I finally got the regulator installed just yesterday!

Lost faith in the OEM part so I wasn't getting that, I wasn't too sure about the one on Amazon that was suggested, and one of the local shops here couldn't get the Drag Specialties part in for another 2 weeks. I ended up going with Cycle Electric and those guys were super helpful, but even they had a back order on the regulator. Guess lots of people are having this problem. They shipped the part straight to my closest parcel place (i live in vancouver, bc) even though they said that they don't usually ship to customers directly.

The part's in, ride's great, and lots of sun left to ride it. Thanks again for all the help, much appreciated!!

+++ for Cycle Electric Inc !
