Quick thoughts on DK's Outlaw 587 Air Cleaner
1 Attachment(s)
So today I was pretty excited. Not just normal excited, more of the kind like a kid on Christmas. My parcel arrived from DK Customs. 1 set of Xied's and the Outlaw 587 A/C.
Installation went very fast, both in under 20 minutes. Most of that time spent trying to figure out what to listen to in the garage. After I installed everything, I took my 11 48 out for a spin around town and down the main highway so i could open it up. I fired it up, only difference that was noticed before rolling was this sound of air sucking. Nice, right? lol. Down the road i went, not light in the throttle either. Low end was a definite improvement in torque. As I climbed through the gears, hitting the throttle hard, everything was running great and felt great. Off to the highway I go. I get into 5th, and roll the wrist hard....big improvement at higher speeds. Nice passing power now. My bike has xied's, the outlaw a/c, python slip ons. The rest of the changes are only cosmetic. By the way, I think it looks bad ass....ride on |
Them bars are nice! Then I noticed the rear fender and figured you have an export bike. Can you switch it to the normal fender and be street legal up there?

I'm sure the US fender would be legal here. If it wasn't for the odd passenger on the back, i'd just chop the it off. Not really worried about legalities.

One of these summers I want to ride from MI to NY through Canada. Some nice scenery in them parts. And the coffee at the road side stops is the best. |

Rock on brother. I like that fender on the 48 anyway. If I ever get one I will put that fender on it, along with a 4.5 tank and thinner tires.

Well if you do that trip, you will go through my area. Not only are their coffee stops but some of the best nudie bars this side of the planet. :icon_beerchug:

Coffee might be good but you won't like the gas prices. My Indy just got back from a Canada trip and said gas was about $1.90/liter which is about $7.20 a gallon. Ouch......

I got an aunte that lives on the coast of lake Huron. Beaches are nice and when the water hits 60F we go swimmimg, oh and the whiskey is top notch. Now I want to go so bad just thinking about it lol. Edit: sometimes I might make some remarks about Canadians, its all in good fun and FWIW, we dislike people from Ohio more. Worst state to drive through in the USA. Going east is faster through Canada and so much better than even thinking of riding or driving through Ohio! I dont care what gas costs. |
Heck I could get you to bring me parts across the border. USPS is slower than heck. Took 24 days to get my goods from MS.

Nice.
Any smoke from the breather bolts when the bike heats up? I was about to pull the plug on this AC and then I read that other thread where a guy running slip ons, plus that AC, plus XiEDs was running VERY hot. Makes me nervous to change anything on this bike without a full and proper dyno tune. |
