Arghhh... the part that the dealership sold me this morning is the new version of the clip: a FOUR-part clip that's got OVER-ENGINEERED written all over it. Damn!

how do I remove the old clips off my 07 Sportster and install the new ones?

Mine was already loose, and so I just grabbed it with a pair of pliers and pulled.
