OP that is one sharp bike.
As to the question. Today in the upper 60's and high winds I took the 14 XL1200T on a 210 mile loop in northwestern Illinois. Many many bikes out. Saw the first two Indians on the roads in this area since they were intoduced. Being the good cowboy that I am, I took out my Henry repeating rifle and shot them.:icon_sad: |
I put in a new K&N air filter and adjusted the throttle cable, the butterfly was not opening all the way. Then I rode about 100 miles. had a good time.
|
Changed the oil and filter and primary, new headlight bulb (broke the thing riding somehow) and adjusted the clutch. Fiddled with the shift lever and concluded it sux and I will just leave it alone.
|
Installed a new chrome bobber cover on my Outlaw 587 from DK Customs.

It looks like it might be from DP Customs

I hand built it myself. I purchased some 1.75 Mandrel tubing from Speedway motors. I used stock flanges and just went from there cutting and welding until I got to the end and used some billet tips my got from my BIL. He works at a machine shop and these had been scrapped so I used them on the ends. I have used these before on a prior build and just continued with the theme. I was actually inspired by DP customs but wanted to go with the end tips to keep my handbuilt exhaust theme going so I just did it myself. Nice work. Your bike looks amazing. |

Thank you. I put a lot of work into it. I did 100% of all the work. even down to the powdercoating |
Took a day off from office, and mounted the (now) fully charged battery back. Luckily it seems to have survived the winter in garage, even if it was empty....
As it was on my desk for almost 2 weeks, and still my multimeter showed 12.6 volts. And it started immediately ! what a relief ... :icon_imnotworthy: Also mounted (finally) these Kuryakun mirror extensions, chrome ones, that I painted black. It is so nice now, to see what goes on behind you ! I still need to buy Locktite or similar, as I can't seem to get them tight enough. Checked all was ZoK, and took her out for the first time this year, to a selfservice carwash place! No she looks nice again! |
