I started it this morning. After sitting thru 3 nights at or below 0*F, and 2 days around 12*-17*F I thought I'd see how easy it would start.

It fired right up, same as it does when it's warm out. I was surprised how quick the oil temperature came up. Took maybe 10 minutes and oil temp was around 130*F.

Put it back to bed as the roads are covered in salt/brine solution, and temps are headed down, predicting -12*F Monday night...

Wow, now THAT'S interesting. I grew up in Crawfordsville, lived in the *** Addition just west of town off of 136. I graduated from North Montgomery in 1975.

Small world...

Wow... I graduated from North Mont in 1977.
My Mom and Dad owned the shell station across from the holiday inn where I worked and later the Lindy Freeze in Linden. Bet we know some of the same people. Send me a PM if you would like to discuss further.

Dang, I worked at the Gulf station between the Holiday Inn and the bowling alley across 231 from the Shell and Amoco (Standard) stations. No doubt we know some of the same people.

Happy New Year to ya'!

I have a 3 day weekend ahead of me and the temperature will range between a high of 15F and a low of 1, with some white stuff here & there.

My plan is to warm up the garage and take the fuel tank off my Sporty. I'm going to replace the low fuel sensor (the idiot light pops on and off at random), and while I'm in there, the fuel filter. This should wrap up my off-season maintenance for this year.

I don't have anyone to help me with this, but Sam Adams will be there afterward.

You don't have to go this alone. Sam Adams will gladly watch you work and take a quick break with you.
