Didn't really do it TO my Sporty, but I fabricated a phone clip out of Kydex (that stuff is cool) to stick to the tank. I use Ulysse Speedometer Pro as a speedo, and to keep track of my rides. It's a pretty cool app.
But I don't like the phone mounts that stick up off the handlebars like a billboard. I used one for a few years and got tired of it. So, having some Kydex lying around, I decided to mold a clip to the shape of my phone, put some magnets on the back, and......
I still need to clean up the edges a little bit, but it works very nicely.

I set up a ram mount on my Sportster where it is not visible like on the handle bars. Mine uses a ball that I mounted on the Handlebar clamp and I have it set so that it is over the fuel tank and below or at level with my gauges. I will snap a shot of it tonight. I also use Ulyses when I need to verify speedo or in the case of my sporty when the Speedo died and did not have one. I do prefer Waze on my rides for its ability to notify me of problems and also I can verify my speed.

I don't have gauges. The less the better.
I look forward to seeing your setup.

Pretty cool stuff. You could probably market that. I've never seen anything quite like it.

The cold rainy, snowy, icy, weather continues, and all the roads are coated in a thick layer of salt so, now is as good a time as any to replace the rear tire.

Every other bike I've had, you just remove the axle, drop the chain off the sprocket and the wheel drops out, not on a Sportster I found out. Upper belt guard had to come off, both lower rear shock bolts had to removed, right side so the guard could come off, left side so the brake caliper could be pulled out from inside the rim. Still a tight fit...
