Default 91 Sporty Rear Brake New Install

Guys,

Almost ready to complete the little project I've been working on and I installed the front and rear brakes this past weekend. Front brakes... no problem. Used my vacuum and it worked like a charm. Having issues with the rear though... I can't get fluid to come out of the damn master cylinder. I couldn't get the vacuum to suck .0000001 ml of brake fluid from it. I disconnected the line to see if it was clogged and to my surprise no brake fluid even poured out of the master cylinder with the reservoir full?? Even when pumping the brake lever?? I rebuilt the master cylinder but there really isn't much to them.. am I missing something or is there a simple trick to this? Should I try to pump fluid in from the bleeder with a syringe?

Thanks....

Sounds like something wrong with the rebuild of the cylinder. Might want to disassemble and double check everything. I've got a 1991 FSM if you have any questions.

Thanks John.. I'll check it out. I have the Clymer and the Harley manual. I will take it apart this weekend. Just wanted to know if I overlooked something obvious.

Bleeding brakes can be a bl33ding nuisance! I did a total rebuild of my rear brake a while ago (on my Glide) and the darned thing bled OK in seconds. Then tried a routine fluid change on the front and had all manner of problems! So after following John's advice, take a deep breath, plead forgiveness from your gods and try again, harbouring only peaceful thoughts.....
