Lowering question

I have a question regarding lowering a 883. What would be the easiest way to lower the motorcycle so I have better balance when placing my feet on the ground. I am 5'5".

I've read a little bit about lowering kits that include rear shocks. I also saw lowering blocks and of course thinner seats.

What would be the easiest, quickest and cheapest route? Any recommendations would be highly appreciated.

that ebay lowering kit is the exact same one i got and its still going strong today.
dropped the rear end by around 3".
also try picking up a thinner seat off ebay. the stock seat for the '48' is an inch or two lower than the stock iron seat. thats the road i went down

Don't! You have little enough ground clearance as it is and are quite tall enough. To improve your confidence, try a thick-soled pair of proper riding boots, partly to increase your reach, but also to give you improved grip. Then ride, enjoy and you will soon find that increasing familiarity and skill will solve your query! :icon_bike:

I'm 5'3" and I tried boots with a higher heal and yes it works...however, I still wanted my feet flat to the floor so I ended up going with the Burly Slammer Kit. It's a great kit but do know you'll lose clearance and the shocks are stiff as hell as it feels like Im riding ridged at times, but I got use to it am happy with my new stance :)
