Gears and RPM's ... 2014 Iron 883
Hi guys,
Just from a newbie on harleys ... can you post, more or less, which are the RPM's on wich you engage each gear on a Iron 883 ? ... thanks so much !! |
For normal cruising, pick a gear that keeps you between 3,000 - 5,000 RPM

As this question is repeatedly.asked.over and over maybe a mod can sticky the 883 and 1200 mph/rpm charts.

http://i176.photobucket.com/albums/w...883MPHCalc.jpg According to my math my 1200C is approx 3300 rpms @ 70 mph. Didn't think there was that much difference. ? ? For me that's enough reason to get a 1200. I just found a chart for the 1200 which differs only a little from my math: |
In less you have a tachometer knowing what gear at what RPM is really meaningless, I ride and shift gears listening to the motor, Maybe someone can post what speed you should be at to shift to the next gear and so on that without a Tach would be better knowledge for you.
Edit, my bad just looked at the chart and it has mph.. |
