ODO turns off and won't start

I got an XL1200X which has been sitting in the garage for quite some time. When I turn the key to full position, the ODO turns off and the alarm goes off.
Can't even switch on the ignition, fuel pump, everything is cut off.

Is the battery dead? Lights are on though. Bike is practically 'new' with less than 6K kilometres. Or is the keyfob's battery dead?

Update: Well I check the keyfob's battery and it's currently at 2.8V down from 3V. So I assume its not the keyfob.

How many volts in the bike's battery?

if your getting lights, your battery wont be dead, but it might be too low to turn the bike over.
have you checked your fuses? and battery terminals?
if fuses and terminals are ok, give the battery a good charge

Haven't checked yet. Definitely will do it tomorrow.

Hopefully the problem is just the battery. Going to get my hands on a battery charger this Monday.

i had a similar problem this week.
when i turned the key to ignition, everything died.
when i pulled some of the fuses, the dummy lights and clock came back on.
narrowed it down to the lights fuse.
when i pulled the fuse out, the bike ran fine.
narrowed that problem down to a slight corrosion on one of the plugs in the rear lighting.
cleaned it up, put the fuse back in and now my bike is running fine

Well the battery is running low at 6.05v. Going to charge it tomorrow and hopefully that's it.

You will be lucky if that battery holds a charge much anymore. Usually when the voltage gets that low, the battery is done shortly after.
