I'm pretty sure any year will fit but just in case, try getting a set close to your year. I bought a set of aftermarket street glide air shocks for my '13 and they bolted right up, I just had to put a couple washers between the shock and frame at each mounting point to ensure the shocks won't rub anything.

just about any year will fit...you might need to get some spacers (washers) so the shock doesnt rub against the strut support.

get the newest/lowest miles ones you can find.

HUGE improvement over stock!!!!!!!

Great thread to read. It helped me find the correct shocks on eBay. I got the 54662-09 street glide 11.5"

Starting in 2009 , all the 12" electra glide "type" rear shocks are valved a bit stiffer than the previous years due to the frame change. So they will offer a bit more dampening control.

Looking to switch to street glides (11.5"- 54662-09 or 12" -54662-02A) also on 06- xl1200c. I'm concerned about them being too stiff because rider weight is 135lbs and these shocks will be coming from bigger bikes. Thanks for the info on the subtle differences and your help Mick.

Yes they will be too stiff, @ 165 they were too stiff for me. Hell the 13" ones were too stiff for me, well.........no better than stock. 13s with lowering blocks made them a little better than stock.

glad to know this does work. i found a cheap set on cl i was gonna pick up but wanted to make sure it would work first. i need something to make the ride smoother with my wife with me. and possibly lift it slightly so i can put some bags on it ('14 iron)

I am searching threads about air shocks for 48.

isnt 11.5" too short to have any noticeable difference in the ride?
