Default xr1200 Front Caliper on Softail help

Hey Guys,

I have been researching front caliper upgrades and found threads with some guys changing the front caliper to an xr1200 caliper. I have a few questions regarding the xr caliper and one of them I realize is a streeeetch.

Is the xr caliper differential bore, front and rear pistons are different size, just like brembo?

Could some one measure from the middle of front axle to lower caliper bolt? My softie is 9.5mm. I know the caliper bolt spacing is the same.

And the streeeetch question is, does anyone own or have access to a 2000+ softail to see if the xr caliper would be a direct bolt on? Maybe just a visual and a couple measurements to compare and take a best guess.

Cross referencing Hawg Halters caliper part numbers, 2000+ softies and 2000-2010 sporties and dynas use the same caliper. This is what leads me to believe it could bolt on.

I would buy an xr caliper to try but the local dealership does not have any in stock.

Any help or suggestions appreciated!
