Clean slate on 2nd 48
So I decided I should finally do my own build thread and consolidate everything in one area. Seeing that I already have this thread up...I will dedicate all my upgrades n such here for my/your viewing pleasure! See below...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Glad to announce that I took delivery today on my 2nd 2014 Forty-Eight! Insurance settlement was a good experience and I will be starting over with a new canvass with this beauty! This time shes ABS! 2014 Morocco Gold Pearl ABS https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5561/...cbac4154_c.jpgUntitled by rio_rx, on Flickr and a pic of the deceased(totaled) Chrome flake... https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5542/...0817a89d_c.jpgUntitled by rio_rx, on Flickr On a side note: I got a few comments when I posted about getting another 48 after the ACCIDENT in July... Things like "Why would you get another bike?" and "Didn't you learn your lesson?" hahahahah I just thought it was funny... Of course I would get another bike! I love this shit! And the lesson I learned...NEVER give other motorists the benefit of thinking they are remotely intelligent when behind the wheel... :icon_bike: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pre-ride check before her maiden voyage... https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5583/...20f33f53_c.jpgUntitled by rio_rx, on Flickr Cleaned up the bug eyes with smoke lens and visors https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3844/...54da3b6f_c.jpgUntitled by rio_rx, on Flickr Removed the reflectors...no heat gun just floss and wd40. https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5562/...977e5965_c.jpgUntitled by rio_rx, on Flickr https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3845/...78fed6fd_c.jpg by rio_rx, on Flickr Just some minor stuff for now as I'm waiting on parts to arrive... |
Good to see it worked out. I hear you on people's comments about getting another bike. I was still on the backboard in the ER when my dad said, "did you learn your lesson?" I am on my 4 bike now. It definitely makes you more aware that you are invisible to other drivers.

even with ABS the brakes still suck....upgrade the caliper!

Glad you are back on 2 wheels & satisfied with the insurance settlement.
The wife grew up in Guam, and we are planning a quick trip over in the next couple of months. Are there any places to rent a bike for a day or two? |
Congrats! Looking forward to seeing the changes you make to your new 48. I'm on my 5th bike since I went down in 1997. :)

Nothing wrong with the brakes as long as you ride with some sense.
